About the Forum Organizer
Open Development Cambodia (ODC) is an ‘open data’ website and the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. The open data movement is based on the simple premise that data collected for the public interest should be publicly available without restrictions. Information or data in the public domain should be freely available for everyone to use and republish as they wish.
In 2023, Open Development Cambodia (ODC) introduced the Youth Internet Governance Forum (YIGF) to Cambodian youth for the first time. It aimed to raise young people’s awareness of Internet governance discourse and encourage the younger generation to actively engage in policy discussions and decision-making processes. The forum provides a platform for youth, technology professionals, policymakers, and experts to share knowledge and contribute to positive changes in information sharing and Internet safety. It also aims to help young people better understand their role in shaping the future of society.

About the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a global multistakeholder platform convened by the United Nations Secretary-General to facilitate discussions on public policy issues related to the Internet. It brings together stakeholders from different groups as equals to exchange information, share good practices, and strengthen a common understanding of how to maximize the opportunities of the Internet while addressing its risks and challenges.
Key Pillars and Objectives of the Internet Governance Forum include Multistakeholder Dialogue, which provides an open and inclusive space for governments, the private sector, civil society, the technical community, and academic and research institutions to participate in discussions on Internet governance and digital policy. Policy Dialogue and Cooperation aim to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and good practices, strengthen cooperation among stakeholders, and contribute to a shared understanding of digital governance issues, including cybersecurity, digital rights, data privacy and protection, and meaningful and inclusive access to the Internet.

It brings together stakeholders from different sectors to exchange knowledge and contribute to discussions on Cambodia’s digital future.
